PANASONIC Aquarea J 5 kW Monobloc air-to-water heat pump, R32, WH-MDC05J3E5-1

PANASONIC Aquarea High Performance J Generation WH-MDC05J3E5-1 is a single-phase 5 kW air-to-water monobloc heat pump designed for efficient space heating, active cooling and domestic hot-water production when connected to an external DHW cylinder.

With the monobloc design, the complete refrigerant circuit is located inside the outdoor unit. No refrigerant pipework is required between the heat pump and the building; only the hydraulic water circuit has to be connected. A separate indoor hydrokit is therefore not required.

Aquarea High Performance J Generation is suitable for new-build and low-energy homes, low-temperature radiators and underfloor heating systems. Maximum heating-water outlet temperature is 60 °C, while heating operation is possible down to an outdoor temperature of –20 °C.

At the standard operating condition A +7 °C / W35 °C, the unit provides 5.00 kW heating capacity with a high COP of 5.08. Even at A –7 °C / W35 °C, the specified heating capacity remains 5.00 kW.

For an average climate, seasonal efficiency reaches SCOP 5.12 at W35 °C and 3.63 at W55 °C, with heating energy classes of A+++ / A++.

The unit also provides active cooling. Cooling capacity is 5.00 kW with EER 3.31 at A35 °C / W7 °C, while EER reaches 5.05 at A35 °C / W18 °C.

The system uses R32 refrigerant with a factory charge of 1.3 kg, equivalent to 0.878 tonnes of CO₂. The refrigerant circuit is hermetically sealed in the outdoor unit.

The unit incorporates a variable-speed circulation pump, an integrated 3 kW electric backup heater, water-flow sensor and magnetic water filter. Heating-water flow at ΔT 5 K and W35 °C is 14.3 l/min.

With the optional CZ-TAW1 adaptor, Aquarea Smart Cloud remote control and Aquarea Service Cloud functionality can be added. An external DHW cylinder is required for domestic hot-water production.

PANASONIC WH-MDC05J3E5-1 combines 5 kW heating capacity, high seasonal efficiency, R32 technology, heating operation down to –20 °C and water temperatures up to 60 °C in one compact outdoor monobloc unit.
