KOSPEL GRW-4.5/400V heating element, 4500 W, 400 V, 6/4", with thermostat

KOSPEL GRW-4.5/400 is an electric immersion heating element with an integrated thermostat, designed for heating water in storage water heaters and domestic hot-water cylinders. Its rated heating power is 4500 W / 4.5 kW.

This GRW version is designed for a 400 V 3N~ electrical supply. The manufacturer's wiring diagram specifies three phase conductors L1, L2 and L3, neutral conductor N and protective-earth conductor PE.

The heating element is installed in the cylinder through a 6/4" / 1½" threaded connection. KOSPEL technical documentation specifies dimension A for the GRW-4.5/400 as approximately 350 mm. The cylinder connection and available installation depth should therefore be checked before installation.

The integrated thermostat automatically controls the water temperature. In KOSPEL's technical table, the lower thermostat setting is specified as 9 ±6 °C and the upper thermostat setting as 75 ±3 °C.

In addition to the operating thermostat, the heating element incorporates an STB thermal safety cut-out. For the GRW-4.5/400, KOSPEL specifies a thermal protection trip temperature of 98 ±8 °C, protecting the system against excessive temperature.

The heating element is intended to operate immersed in water. Before connecting the electrical supply, the cylinder must be filled with water and the threaded connection checked for leaks. The heating element must not be operated in an empty cylinder.

KOSPEL GRW-4.5/400 can be used in compatible KOSPEL domestic hot-water cylinders and other cylinders designed for a 6/4" electric heating element. The maximum permitted electric-heater output for the specific cylinder should always be checked in its technical documentation.
