KOSPEL GRW-2.0/230V heating element, 2000 W, 230 V, 6/4", with thermostat

KOSPEL GRW-2.0/230 is an electric immersion heating element with an integrated thermostat, designed for heating water in electric storage water heaters and domestic hot-water cylinders. Its rated heating power is 2000 W and the rated supply voltage is 230 V~.

The heating element is installed in the cylinder through a 6/4" / 1½" threaded connection. The GRW-2.0/230 has an approximate insertion length of 290 mm, so compatibility with the cylinder construction and available installation space must be checked before installation.

The integrated thermostat provides water-temperature control within a range of 5–60 ±5 °C. Temperature is adjusted by means of the control knob located on the heating-element housing.

In addition to the operating thermostat, the unit incorporates a thermal safety switch to protect against excessive temperature. For the GRW-2.0/230 version, the thermal cut-out temperature is specified as 77 ±7 °C.

If the thermal protection trips, KOSPEL instructs the user to disconnect the heater from the power supply, cool the cylinder and determine the cause of overheating. The thermal switch can then be manually reset through the reset point located beneath the thermostat control knob.

Before connecting the heating element to the electrical supply, the cylinder must be filled with water and the threaded connection checked for leaks. The 230 V GRW version must be connected to a mains socket equipped with a PE protective-earth connection.

During installation, KOSPEL also requires a minimum distance of 2 mm between the temperature-sensor tube and the heating element. Correct installation is essential for reliable temperature control and safe operation.
