HERZ I112402 is a combined air, sludge and ferromagnetic dirt separator designed to protect water-based heating and cooling systems. One device simultaneously removes entrained air, separates sludge and other dirt particles and, by means of an integrated magnet, captures ferromagnetic particles circulating in the system.

The separator operates according to the cyclone principle. Its internal design slows and redirects the flow, enabling air bubbles to separate from the heating or cooling medium and rise to the automatic air vent located at the top of the unit. Heavier dirt and sludge particles settle in the lower section and can be discharged through the integrated ball valve.

An integrated magnetic separator captures ferromagnetic particles present in the circulating water. The magnetic separation system allows collected magnetic dirt to be removed without draining the entire heating or cooling installation, simplifying regular system maintenance.

The unit is equipped with an automatic air vent with shut-off valve. It continuously removes accumulated air from the system and helps prevent air pockets, circulation noise, uneven heat distribution and reduced heat-transfer performance.

HERZ I112402 can be installed in either the supply or return line of heating and cooling systems. A rotatable connection element allows the separator to be installed in both horizontal and vertical pipework, providing considerable installation flexibility.

The body is manufactured from dezincification-resistant DZR brass. Nominal pressure is PN10, while the HERZ product specification states an operating pressure of up to 6 bar. Maximum operating temperature is 110 °C, without steam.

The separator is suitable for water and water/glycol mixtures with approximately up to 30% glycol. The DN20 model features a 3/4" connection and union connection pieces for convenient installation and maintenance.

Continuous removal of air, sludge and metallic particles helps maintain efficient system circulation and reduces contamination of pumps, valves, heat exchangers and other heating or cooling system components.
