DEVIpipeheat™ 10 V3 140F0923 is a ready-made self-limiting electric heating cable designed primarily for frost protection of water pipes, pipelines and tanks. Its self-limiting construction automatically increases or reduces heat output according to the surrounding temperature.

This version is supplied ready for use with a Schuko plug. The heating section is 6 m long and the cold lead is 2 m long.

Nominal linear output is 10 W/m at 10 °C, corresponding to a total nominal output of 60 W at 10 °C. Supply voltage is 230 V AC.

The self-limiting principle increases heat output as the ambient temperature falls and reduces it as the temperature rises. A self-limiting cable does not, however, switch completely off, so DEVI specifies the use of suitable thermostat protection.

The cable features a twin-conductor construction, tinned-copper conductors with TPE insulation, 100% aluminium-foil screening and a durable HDPE + PVDF light-blue outer sheath.

The complete ready-made product is rated IP67, while the manufacturer's data sheet specifies IP68 for the heating section and end termination.

Maximum permissible temperature, both powered and unpowered, is 65 °C. Minimum installation temperature is –5 °C and minimum bending diameter is 50 mm.

DEVIpipeheat™ 10 V3 can be installed on the outside of pipes. Internal installation in water pipes is also possible where this application is appropriately certified. For internal installation, maximum water temperature is 23 °C and maximum water pressure is 10 bar.

DEVI requires the self-limiting heating cable to be protected by a suitable thermostat and an RCD with a maximum trip current of 30 mA.

The exact 140F0923 product has a net weight of 716 g and a gross weight of 920 g. Manufacturer-listed package volume is 9.147 l.
