DEVIpipeheat™ 10 V3 140F0922 is a ready-made self-limiting electric heating cable designed primarily for frost protection of water pipes, pipelines and tanks. Its self-limiting construction automatically adjusts heat output according to the surrounding temperature.

This version is supplied ready for use with a Schuko plug. The heating cable length is 4 m and the cold lead length is 2 m.

Nominal linear output is 10 W/m at 10 °C, corresponding to a total nominal output of 40 W at 10 °C for the 4 m cable. Supply voltage is 230 V AC.

The self-limiting principle means that heat output increases as the ambient temperature falls and decreases as the temperature rises, allowing the cable to adapt its output to actual conditions.

The cable has a twin-conductor construction, 100% aluminium-foil screen, tinned copper conductors and a durable HDPE + PVDF outer sheath. The cable is light blue.

The complete ready-made unit is rated IP67, while the heating section and end termination are specified as IP68. Maximum permissible operating temperature, both powered and unpowered, is 65 °C.

Minimum installation temperature is –5 °C and minimum bending diameter is 50 mm. According to the Danfoss product database, cable dimensions are approximately 8.75 × 5.2 mm.

The manufacturer's data sheet permits DEVIpipeheat™ 10 V3 installation on the outside of pipes and, in certified markets, inside water pipes. For internal pipe installation, maximum water temperature is 23 °C and maximum water pressure is 10 bar.

DEVI specifies that self-limiting heating cables must be protected by a suitable thermostat and by an RCD with a maximum trip current of 30 mA.
