VAREM MAXIVAREM LR vertical expansion vessel for heating systems 300 l, 1 1/2", 6 bar

VAREM MAXIVAREM LR 300 L is a vertical diaphragm expansion vessel designed for closed water-based heating systems. It absorbs the increase in heating-medium volume caused by thermal expansion and helps limit pressure rise in the system. Its 300-litre capacity makes it suitable for larger residential, commercial and technical heating installations, boiler systems and heat-pump heating circuits where this expansion volume is required by system calculations.

MAXIVAREM LR vessels from 50 litres are equipped with a replaceable membrane and screwed flange, allowing the membrane to be replaced without replacing the entire steel vessel. For the 300 L version, VAREM lists replacement membrane MB0200S4H00000000, counterflange SPCFL254ZN400000 and pre-charge valve ACVAL200PR000000.

Model UR300471CS000000 has a nominal capacity of 300 litres, maximum working pressure of 6 bar, standard factory pre-charge of 1.5 bar and a 1 1/2" connection. Overall dimensions are 624 × 1160 mm. Packaging volume is 0.481 m³, with 6 units per pallet.

For its heating range up to 400 litres, VAREM specifies a galvanised-steel flange, while the standard heating-line finish is red and the standard pre-charge pressure is 1.5 bar.

The permissible operating temperature with water is -10 to +99 °C. Water mixed with ethylene or propylene glycol is not the recommended standard application for MAXIVAREM LR. If glycol is used, its concentration must not exceed 20% and the maximum fluid temperature is +70 °C. MAXIVAREM LR vessels are not suitable for potable water.

Correct expansion-vessel sizing depends on the total water content of the heating system, water expansion caused by temperature change, pre-charge pressure and safety-valve pressure. Therefore, selection of the 300 L vessel should be based on system calculations rather than heating-output capacity alone.

The 300 L MAXIVAREM LR is included in VAREM's CE/PED conformity documentation according to Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU and harmonised standard EN 13831:2007. With 300 L capacity and PS of 6 bar, PS × V = 1800 bar·L, placing the vessel in PED Category III.
