VAREM EXTRAVAREM LR expansion vessel for heating systems 8 l, 3/4", 6 bar
VAREM EXTRAVAREM LR 8 L is a diaphragm expansion vessel designed for closed water-based heating systems. Its purpose is to compensate for the increase in water volume caused by rising temperature and to help maintain stable pressure within the heating circuit. This helps protect boilers, heat pumps, valves, pipework and other system components from excessive pressure fluctuations.
The 8-litre EXTRAVAREM LR features a fixed membrane and a galvanised carbon-steel counterflange. The membrane separates the system water from the pressurised air chamber. As the heating water expands, the additional volume enters the vessel and compresses the air side; as the system cools, water is returned to the circuit.
The vessel has a nominal capacity of 8 litres, a maximum pressure of 6 bar and a factory pre-charge pressure of 1.5 bar. Connection size is 3/4", while the stated dimensions are 200 × 330 mm.
The operating temperature range is -10 to +99 °C when used with water. VAREM does not recommend the EXTRAVAREM LR range primarily for glycol mixtures; where ethylene or propylene glycol is used, the manufacturer specifies a maximum concentration of 20% and a maximum operating temperature of +70 °C.
EXTRAVAREM LR is specifically designed for heating systems and is not suitable for potable water. Applications involving domestic hot water or potable-water systems require an expansion vessel from a suitable VAREM sanitary or multifunction range.
The vessel is finished in red, following VAREM's heating-line identification. Its compact dimensions make the 8-litre version suitable for smaller closed heating installations where an 8-litre expansion capacity is confirmed by system design calculations.
For the 8-litre version, CE marking is not applicable under the PED classification. VAREM's current catalogue specifically identifies the 5- and 8-litre EXTRAVAREM LR models as products for which CE marking is not applicable due to their pressure-volume classification.
