PROTHERM Ray 28kW electric heating boiler (v.14)
PROTHERM Ray 28kW (RAY 28 KE /14 EU) is a wall-mounted electric heating boiler with continuous output modulation for hydronic heating systems. Maximum heating output is 28 kW, while the modulation range is 2.3–28 kW. The switching step is 2.3 kW, allowing the boiler to adapt its heat generation progressively to actual heating demand. The RAY 28 KE uses four 7 kW electric heating elements.
The RAY KE series features eBUS communication, continuous output modulation, automatic diagnostics and integrated weather-compensated control. When an outdoor temperature sensor is connected, the heating-water temperature can automatically adapt to outdoor conditions. The boiler also supports HDO signal control, frost protection and balanced loading of the heating elements.
A high-efficiency heating circulation pump and an 8-litre expansion vessel are integrated into the boiler. Maximum heating-system operating pressure is 3 bar and heating flow/return connections are G 3/4". The heating-water temperature range is 25–85 °C. At ΔT = 10 K, nominal flow is 2408 l/h and residual pump head is 11 kPa.
PROTHERM Ray 28 KE can also prepare domestic hot water in an external indirect cylinder using the appropriate connection accessories. DHW temperature can be adjusted from 35 to 70 °C. PROTHERM also provides cascade connection capability for the 24 and 28 kW RAY KE models when higher total heating output is required.
RAY 28 KE requires a three-phase 3 × 230/400 V + N + PE, 50 Hz electrical supply. Maximum current is 3 × 43 A and the specified protective circuit breaker is 50 A. Electrical protection is IP40.
