Midea M thermal HYGGE is an air-to-water heat pump system designed for heating, cooling and domestic hot-water production. The system consists of the MHA-V12WD2RN8-E outdoor unit and HBT-A160/240CDS90GN8-E indoor unit with an integrated 240-litre tank.

The HYGGE range uses EVI technology for enhanced heating performance at low outdoor temperatures. According to the brochure, the system maintains 100% heating capacity at A-15/W35, while a leaving-water temperature of up to 45 °C is available even at an outdoor temperature of -28 °C.

The MHA-V12WD2RN8-E has a nominal heating capacity of 12.1 kW and a COP of 4.84 at A7/W35. SCOP at W35 is 5.19 for an average climate and 4.55 for a colder climate. Energy efficiency class at W35/W55 is A+++/A+++.

The system uses R32 refrigerant, an EVI DC Twin Rotary compressor and an EEV electronic expansion valve. The heating operating range is -28 to +35 °C, while the domestic hot-water operating range is -28 to +43 °C.

Noise reduction features include Dragonfly bionic fan blade design, high sound-insulation material, a fully modular two-stage vibration-isolation structure and a low-frequency response pipe. The brochure specifies sound pressure of up to 46 dB(A) for the HYGGE 12–16 kW range.

The indoor unit includes an integrated 240 l tank and a 9 kW three-phase auxiliary electric heater. The hydraulic system shown in the brochure also includes an air vent valve, expansion vessel, water flow switch, plate heat exchanger, pump and pressure relief valve. The opening electronic control box and Flow-Ease water pipe are designed to simplify installation and servicing.
