Bosch Compress 5800i AW 5 OR-S + CS5800iAW 12 MB is a reversible air-to-water heat-pump system for heating, cooling and domestic hot-water production using a separate cylinder. The system combines the compact AW 5 OR-S monobloc outdoor unit with the floor-standing CS5800iAW 12 MB hydraulic indoor unit incorporating a 70-litre buffer tank.

The outdoor unit uses the natural refrigerant R290 (propane) with a very low global warming potential of GWP 3. Refrigerant charge is 0.95 kg. Thanks to the monobloc design, the refrigerant circuit is contained in the outdoor unit while the heating-water circuit is routed into the building.

AW 5 OR-S provides a heating output of 5.4 kW at A−7/W35. Maximum heating flow temperature reaches 75 °C, making the system suitable for both low-temperature new-build heating systems and many renovation projects with existing radiators.

Seasonal efficiency is high, with an SCOP of 4.57 at W35 and 3.50 at W55 under average climate conditions. The energy-efficiency class reaches A+++ for low-temperature heating and A++ for 55 °C applications.

Bosch has placed particular emphasis on quiet operation. The AW 5 OR-S has an ErP outdoor sound power level of 42 dB(A), while Bosch documentation specifies a sound pressure level of only 28.5 dB(A) at 3 metres in night mode.

The CS5800iAW 12 MB indoor unit integrates a 70 l buffer tank, primary and heating circulation pumps, a 9 kW electric auxiliary heater, changeover valve and a 17 l heating-system expansion vessel. Domestic hot water is produced in a separate external cylinder.

System control is provided by the UI800 controller with a 5-inch colour touchscreen. One heating/cooling circuit is supported as standard, while an additional mixed heating/cooling circuit can be connected with accessories. Remote operation through Bosch HomeCom Easy requires the optional ConnectKey K40 RF internet module.

Bosch Compress 5800i AW is suitable for energy-efficient new buildings and renovation projects requiring heating, active cooling, domestic hot-water capability and a compact indoor hydraulic unit with an integrated 70 l buffer tank.
